Newsletter 23rd September 2024

We waited for the forecasted thunder storms this Weekend...⏳ πŸ˜’
We could hear the rumbling in the distance... but the promised thunder and lightning was a no show...just low cloud, poor visibility and warm wind. The rain held off until Sunday!

Two interesting images for you... 1st taken by our resident volenteer Ian Meadows and the other by The Skipper... moments apart... what do you think?

Even though the cloud base stayed at just about circuit height all day Friday and Saturday, Gill and Student Anton managed to climb above and find patches of  blue sky in the Cessna 172.

Congratulations Emil Jordan Ares

Big congratulations to Emil Jordan Ares for completing his first solo flight! and reaching a huge milestone in his PPL journeyβ€” ✈️✨

It’s one thing to dream of flying, but it's a huge commitment to take all you have learnt onboard and to be in control of a light aircraft: from taking off, soaring through the skies and to landing the aircraft safely on your own πŸ‘πŸ». Just the beginning of an exciting journey toward becoming a licensed pilot.  Well done to Richard Pitts for his part in getting Emil solo.

Les Gyros Are Off Again

Julian Hilton-Johnson and Paul Cullimore planned yet another short vacance in their gyrocoptors and as luck would have it, the conditions were good on the day! So off they went to Le Touquet for la vacance and shared these amazing images from the trip. Nice posing! And what fantastic clear visibility.

Alex, Gill and the C172.

More flying over water... this time to the Isle of Wight.  Pilot Alex Massey,  flew with Instructor Gill during the week, to gain confidence of flying over water. He had planned to re-create the journey his weekend with his buddy who is over from Australian...Unfortunately the weather had other ideas about that, so sadly, and not for the want of trying, Alex and Ben had to postpone their trip to another day.

Spreading the Word.

We were asked to be a part of freshers week at Banbury and Bicester College this week...Thanks to Ian Meadows for helping out when there was such a rush of students wanting our aeroplane chocolates!
Supporting Banbury and Bicester College and spreading the word: β€œit’s great fun to fly”
