Newsletter Review of 2024

A Year of Wings, A Year of Dreams.
Celebrating 2024... Looking Forward to 2025

This time of year, we look back with a sigh.
Hearts full of memories and a longing to fly:

From the Suns pilot’s portal, 2024 took flight,
With surprises and trials, and Pilot dreams alight.
January came with the first solo flight,
Richard Fowler soared, with his own plane in sight.

Wilco and trial pilot Peter, flew over the land,
Through Oxfordshire's beauty, by instructor's hand.

Gillie Barlow worked hard each long, busy day,
Soloed, then passed the PPL skills test in January.

With February’s clears skies we were ready to go,
We celebrated Simon's PPL. Then Conor, and Arno
both went solo in the Cessna 152, they flew,
New horizons ahead —oh, what a view!

The Mk26B Spitfire arrived, named Mitchell and Royce,
BA Hull unloaded her, and t'was done in a trice!

And when the clouds gathered in March, still we flew,
Judy Kelly and Jack Brook's night ratings in skies ever new.

April brought rainbows and IMC’s thrill,
Flying through weather, we soared at will.

Ousman Ceesay joined us from Kenya for training too,
With a UK PPL, his dreams will come true.

May saw the Jaguar open day so that we, could see
the changes and improvements made since 2023

In June, Ricardo Assis Rosa returned to fly more,
And showed us his skill as he went solo, and soared!
With the sun shining bright, he took to the air,
A testament to commitment, to skill, and to care.

In June, we gathered for GASCo safety evening and cheer,

And as the weather cleared, we flew without fear.

The Cessna 172 joined us in August’s sun,
Dave and Dave pointed —‘look another one.’ ✈️

But in September, we had to say goodbye to Ted
'Our deepest thank you for all your support' we said 😥

Richards retirement from NetJets was good timing,
to take on students who wanted intense training

Emil Jordan came with passion so pure,
And went solo in September—his dreams more secure.

And in that same month, with a proud, knowing grin,
Dave Stephens sent Tom Greenford solo, during training.

Sergey and Dominic, already flying when they joined us
gained their PPL's in October with confidence and no fuss.

And although November brought snow, there was a flurry of flight:

We delighted at Jack Larkin flying solo with air law insight 👏🏻

And Gez Golding, with gyrocopter licence to tell,
Took to the skies for his solo towards his LAPL

We all cheered Arno Gorter when he passed his skill’s test,
with flying colours to become 2024's One of the Best 📣

As we honoured the British Legion, our hearts filled with pride,
for all who helped raise funds and stood by our side.

And now, as the year closes, with skies not so bright,
We look to 2025, hoping for tailwinds and light.
With Millie-Mog's wisdom, and hearts so strong,
We’ll keep flying together—where we all belong.

So here’s to these pilots, The 'dream maker' Team,
To the journeys we’ve shared, of the skies we’ll still dream.

With gratitude we look, to the skies clear and wide,
And to Sky Demon we say, may you always be our guide.

                        MILLIE-MOG SPOT:
Good Weather is like a cat. If you try to plan something, like a long navigation, it will flick its tail at you. But if you believe the forecast and cancel all the sorties, you'll find it jumping into your lap."
