| Summer is here!  Like the Saturday bacon rolls in the clubroom...get it while it's hot!  We'd love to see you so fly or drive in and say 'Hi' between 10am and 1pm tomorrow. If you are flying in, the instructors wanted us to mention the change to Brize frequencies... Brize Radar is now 124.280 and Zone 119.005. Theyβve finally changed to 8.33 kHz!  They are awfully nice chaps who will let you pass through if at all possible, so do talk to them.              The Jaguar open day is this month... Neil and his dad Peter have been working hard to get the lady ready. Now we know a lot of people are familiar with the outside and we believe you won't want to miss seeing inside the Jag. So come along on 17th August for the Open Day, details can be found when you scroll down.  It's also yet another opportunity for a breakfast roll as we are serving them all day during the open day in the clubroom. π You may have heard that the popular BTUW suffered a prop. strike last week. The team at LS Aeromotive are pulling out all the stops to get her flying again for us but parts are hard to get hold of so we have leased a C172 until she is back on her wings again.  BXSD is joining us later today just in time for the sunny weekend ...and is available for training.  She's very excited to be here so we hope you will support her and make her feel welcome. We like to give Students and Members the benefit of both hard and north side grass runway practice here at Enstone... It seems we are also hit by the current trend in increasing prices with or without foundation. Since the monthly hard runway fees to us will be rising by 33.33% this is an advance warning that, from September, in order to keep our Pilots flying off of the hard runway, we need to increase our landing fees from Β£6.00 to Β£8.00/landing capped at Β£30.00 for 5 landings or more. The hard runway landing fees have also increased for visiting aircraft from 1st July, to Β£12.50 per landing and circuits are Β£35 per session. Qualifying Cross Country!      Congratulations Arno on your qualifing cross country recently and to Dave Wilkinson your instructor  ... Onward and upwards! Congratulations Natalie!      And congratulations to Natalie on going solo in July with Gyrocopter Experiences and your instructor Andy Jones ... We have enjoyed watching your solo flying since then! π₯³. π Flying experiences as well as training with Andy are also available from the Enstone Flying Club website. The lovely people below came as a couple and had a great time last weekend.                        https://www.enstoneflyingclub.co.uk/shop/flying-gift-experiences-/autogyro-flight-experiences                       XX764 Jaguar Open Day at Enstone       17th August... Goodbye Ted                   Most Members will remember Ted; Grass cutter and provider of fresh veg. from his allotment.  After all the necessary but horrid treatment he went through, we were sad to hear from his wife, Bev, that the cancer had become untreatable and in the end he passed quite quickly and peacefully... He was a great source of knowledge about local information both past and present...  For instance: He met his wife when they both took part in a prampush from Banbury fire station to Chipping Norton fire station 31st July 1976...would you believe!            Ted was a retained firefighter from 1975 to 1995 and also worked in Parker Knoll repair shop for 25 years. The last few years he worked at a golf club cutting thier greens in Chipping Norton till he was 73. Which is why he kept our grass looking so good... As he became ill he could no longer cut the grass but Bev would bring him to the club so he could catch up.  Our thoughts and sadness are with Bev and his 2 children and grand-daughter. Your're in Good Company                   Lovely to see members and partners at the pub yesterday... it was warm and the beer was flowing! Sadly, (yet again), we were so busy enjoying ourselves we didn't capture the moment on phone! Put the next 'meet up' in your diary and bring your friends & family along whilst the evenings are still light and warm!             5th September, 7 for 7:30, The Green, Great Tew OX7 4DB.
